It’s about as hot as hell’s kitchen down here in Texas, so what better time than now to make some ice cream? Yes folks, with our own hands. You are the machine, so let’s get to it! You’ll need the following items and ingredients;
- One large and one small zip lock bag
- Approximately 20 ice cubes
- 3 tablespoons salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cut fruit
Firstly, place the sugar, milk, and fruit in the smaller of the two bags. I am not a huge fan of dairy, so I used almond milk and it turned out fantastic. Also, you can use whatever fruit you would like, I used strawberries because I like them, damnit. Place the ice cubes and salt into the large bag, and after tightly sealing the small bag place it inside as well. The salt will help lower the temperature to assist in creating our delicious treat.
Now for the fun part: shake the bags for about ten minutes. I used this opportunity to have a dance party, my playlist of choice obviously involved some Beyoncé and some throwback T-pain. The perfect music is defiantly essential step here. After the appropriate amount of time, take a peek at your ice cream; if it is still runny, give it a little more shaking time. If you’re happy with how it looks, scoop yourself a big ‘ol bowl and dig in!
