DIY bath bombs

At the end of a long week, take some time to re-center yourself. For some, it might mean happy hour with friends, or a walk in the park. For me, it defiantly means a relaxing bath. Although I like bubble baths, bath bombs have become my newest obsession! They are sold in many stores but are also so easy and fun to make. You will need these ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid, you can buy it online on Amazon
  • ½ cup Epsom salts
  • 1 tsp water or witch hazel for a happy skin boost
  • 2 tsp essential oil of your choice, lavender and peppermint are my favorites
  • 3 tsp olive oil
  • Natural food coloring of your choice
  • A bowl and whisk

Firstly, mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl with a whisk. In another container, mix the wet ingredients together. Then, slowly add the wet to the dry until it is an even mixture.  You can either pack them into circular molds, cupcake tins, or if you’re a simple woman like me, mold them with your hands. If you use a muffin tin, make sure to grease lightly before packing and you can pop in the oven at 170 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes. Let cool before removing your bath bombs from tin. If you use a mold, pack tightly then tap the mold with a spoon to loosen. Remove your bombs from the mold and let them dry overnight. You do have to pack hand molded ones very tightly, and I suggest leaving them overnight to dry as well. I certainly hope you all enjoy this recipe, and have a relaxing weekend!
