DIY face masks

Throughout our busy, stressful lives, we have excess sebum build up on our skin. When this sebum is exposed to air, it oxidizes and turns black causing those pesky black heads. Peel off masks are a great way to remove those irritating skin defects:

  • White of 1 egg, a natural toner
  • 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice, has anti-bacterial properties
  • Tissue paper as needed, undyed

Apply a coat to face with extra attention to problem black head areas. Press tissue paper over first coat, and apply second coat of mixture. Let sit fifteen minutes. When time is up, gently peel off mask and rinse face with cool water. Apply a little extra virgin olive oil to skin if moisturizer is needed.

After a long day, relax with an all-natural, moisturizing face mask:

  • 1/3 cup of oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp honey

Add water to oatmeal and stir until water is soaked up. Mix yogurt and honey, along with the oatmeal mixture, into a blender, and blend until smooth. Apply to face generously and let sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

In order to stay grounded, take time for self-care by setting a moment aside to treat your skin.
